Unique Wedding Reception Table CenterpiecesWould you like your wedding reception centerpieces to be unique? If so, we’ve got some great ideas especially for you.

Centerpiece Idea #1

Buy some glass fish bowls at the dollar store and fill them with fish! You can find goldfish pretty inexpensively either at Wal-Mart or your local pet store. If you have the money, try to find fish in your wedding colors! One word of caution if using live fish - be sure to give their water lots of surface area to provide enough oxygen. The last thing you want is a bunch of dead fish decorating your tables. Let the children in attendance take the fish home – with the permission of their parents, of course.

Centerpiece Idea #2

Collect up all the board games you loved when you were children – Ants in the Pants, Monopoly, Sorry, etc and arrange them on the tables with decorative accents surrounding them. This is great for the children in attendance but don’t be surprised if the adults play with them too!

Centerpiece Idea #3

It would be a good idea to have table centerpieces that reflect the personalities of the bride and groom. For example, here’s a fun idea for those of you that like a cold beer on occasion. Get some longneck beer bottles and steam the labels off them. Create your own beer labels - either on your computer or by hand. Splatter paint the beer bottles before attaching the labels and tying each with a piece of twine. Truly unique, we think!

Centerpiece Idea #4

Take a pint sized Mason jar, wrap it with tissue paper and tie a ribbon around the neck to secure it. Place flowers, potpourri or whatever you think fits you as a couple in the jar.

Centerpiece Idea #5

If you’re getting married around a holiday, you could include some fun decorations that celebrate that holiday. At Christmas, you could spray paint pine cones silver and gold and surround them with pine sprigs. At Easter, you could use plastic Easter eggs and that plastic grass that you fill Easter baskets with.

Centerpiece Idea #6

If you’re having an outdoor reception, decorate around that. Use lots of live flowers and greenery to reflect the beauty of Mother Nature surrounding you. If it’s windy, avoid using candles and be sure that any balloons are secured so that they don’t blow away!

We hope that we’ve given you some inspiration for your wedding reception centerpieces. Good Luck!

These are great ideas! I am concerned about the fish centerpiece idea though. Unfortunately, most of those fish will probably end up suffocating when they aren’t cared for properly after the wedding. Decorating with animals (even goldfish) is unethical when you can’t guarantee that they will be properly cared for after the event.
Love the other ideas though, especially the board games. Thanks Stumbleupon.
